Biography of Glen A. Gordon, M.D.
Dr Gordon received his medical degree from Creighton University in 1963, completed military service during the Vietnam conflict, then served as a Fellow at the National Institutes of Health before entering private practice.
Dr. Gordon's early interest in integrative
medicine placed his practice "outside the box" in the late
1960s. He became the first MD in the US approved to treat humans
with soft tissue injury and arthritis using an energy medicine
treatment known as pulsed electromagnetic field technology. Many
acupuncturists use this technology today for electro-acupuncture and
patients with needle phobia. Outside the US, PEMF is widely employed
throughout the industrialized world.
Specializing in Sports Medicine, he developed
several original rehabilitation techniques, which in combination
with his energy medicine expertise resulted in his speaking
throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Central
America. He also presented papers at International Sports meetings
in Amsterdam and Barcelona. His original contributions to the field
of sports medicine resulted in his being inducted as a Fellow into
the American College of Sports Medicine in 1993. Volunteer positions
include the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and The
Presidents Council on Physical Fitness and Sports regional council.
He is a founding member of the National Strength Coaches
Association, and has written original papers on the effects of
exercise. In addition to three original scientific
articles, Dr Gordon authored a book on whiplash injury treatment. He
is writing another on his use of energy medicine and alternative
therapies to survive a near fatal heart attack at 38 years of age.
Now 68, he recently completed a solo 2500 mile bicycle ride across
the United States in the fall of 2003.
Today he enjoys writing, conducting research on
nanosecond pulsed electromagnetic fields, and speaking.
